Minc apologized to Miller, Moreno and their families, adding: “I deeply regret the mistake.”
Moreno’s lawyers responded by asking a judge to hold Miller in contempt, arguing that releasing the files violated their shared-parenting plan and exposed their daughter’s private information, the Washington Post reported.
They also accused the congressman of using the child for political purposes as pressure grew on him to abandon his reelection campaign.
Miller is battling Democrat Brian Poindexter to hold Ohio’s 7th Congressional District in November as Republicans fight to preserve their slim House majority.
The document dump had begun with Miller’s Sunday livestream, in which he walked viewers through the allegations and claimed the material would prove that Moreno had lied.
