Darline Graham Just Said What Lindsey Wouldn’t About The Filibuster – And She’s Right

She stood at her brother’s desk and said “I got it” after Senator Lindsey Graham’s unexpected passing. Now she’s proving she meant it — and going further than he ever did on one key priority for President Trump.

Senator Darline Graham (R-S.C.) made the clearest, most direct statement on the filibuster of any Republican currently in the Senate when she took the debate stage in South Carolina Monday night: “If the filibuster is the only thing standing in the way of passing the SAVE America Act, then I’m a YES vote to end it.”

No hedging. No conditions. No “I’d have to see the specific circumstances.” A flat, unambiguous commitment — delivered at a debate with seven days until the August 11 primary, to a South Carolina Republican electorate that wants this fight finished.

This is where she differs from her brother — and she said so explicitly. Lindsey Graham spent years defending the legislative filibuster even under enormous pressure from Trump and the Republican base to eliminate it. He believed the Senate’s character depended on it. He resisted. He held the line even as Democrats repeatedly threatened to eliminate it when power served them.
