The House Ethics Committee announced Tuesday that it had opened an investigation into allegations that Miller engaged in domestic violence or illegal drug use.

The bipartisan panel stressed that launching the investigation “does not itself indicate that any violation” of House rules occurred.

Ahead of the announcement, Miller said he intended to request an ethics investigation into his own behavior to clear his name.

“I am going to file my own paperwork for an ethics investigation into myself to clear my name from these horrific attacks on myself and family,” he wrote on X.

“I have absolutely nothing to hide. We will be providing the committee all necessary documents needed for a detail examination.”

It was not immediately clear whether Miller’s request triggered the investigation or whether the committee had already begun examining the allegations.

It was also unclear whether Miller had filed with the House Ethics Committee or the separate Office of Congressional Conduct.

Miller said he was “looking forward” to his colleagues examining the case and insisted he would not end his campaign for another term.
