Michael Strahan hits back at critics of his Chris Johnson interview as Fox NFL star says – ‘not for me to grand-stand’

But some have criticized Strahan for not discussing the possible link between Johnson’s ALS and his football career.

“Michael Strahan has a responsibility in that instance to ask some sort of football-related question, and he did not do it,” veteran sports host Dan Le Batard said on his podcast following the interview.

“It’s just too uncomfortable. You just can’t enjoy that thing the way you do when these guys are limping through their retirement homes to an early death.”

Strahan asked Johnson how his symptoms materialized and when he was first diagnosed.

But he didn’t mention any link between ALS and playing football.

Strahan joined The Dan Patrick Show earlier this week and was asked about the criticism.

“I actually thought about that, because I saw what everyone [said],” Strahan commented.

“Well you should have asked this, you should have asked that.

“Well you should have got the interview, how about that? That’s one thing.
