Lindsay Clancy journal entries give terrifying insight into her ‘horrible thoughts’ in days before she killed 3 kids

Reddington pointed to a November 2022 trip to New York and asked whether she could have killed the children then had she already wanted to.

“If she wanted to kill the kids she could’ve done it that time when you were out, right?” he asked.

“In theory,” Patrick replied.

The questioning challenged prosecutors’ argument that Clancy carefully arranged Patrick’s short errands on the night of the killings.

Patrick also described Clancy as a devoted mother who read to the children, invented songs and took them to music classes.

“She was very dedicated,” he said. “She did everything.”

Clancy had sought specialist treatment, tried several psychiatric medications and admitted herself to a hospital before the tragedy.

She killed the children 19 days after being discharged, but Patrick said nobody warned him that she should not be left alone with them.

“I didn’t know what psychosis was until after this happened,” he testified.

The trial will determine whether the disturbing entries chart a woman overtaken by severe mental illness or support the prosecution’s case that she remained aware of her actions.
