Karoline Leavitt’s makeup artist gives hidden insights into secrets behind the scenes and press sec’s brutal hours

“And I’m sitting there doing her hair and makeup.”

Despite staying out of the spotlight herself, Danielle said her association with the Trump administration has brought serious blowback.

“I was getting death threats,” she said. “People were like, ‘I pray every day that you go to hell.’

“People talk so much trash, and they don’t know the situation.”

She added: “The criticism that comes with working with a politician, it’s harsh.

“A lot of times they’re attacking not the makeup artist, but they’re attacking the politician, and you just happen to get wrapped up in it.”

Danielle said the job comes with its own set of challenges most people wouldn’t expect.

“Not everybody’s propped up in a light where you can spend 15 minutes on skincare,” she said.

“Especially if you’re a politician, you’re on the go. Your makeup is the last thing you’re thinking of…. [In] those extra 15 minutes, you need to do something else.”

That’s why Danielle believes having a trusted makeup artist matters so much in her line of work.
