Karoline Leavitt’s makeup artist gives hidden insights into secrets behind the scenes and press sec’s brutal hours

“It’s important to have somebody that’s going to show up for you and help you,” she said.

Working so closely with political figures has shifted her perspective in ways she didn’t expect.

“Regardless of whatever someone’s political views are, when you see the people tirelessly working behind the scenes for what they believe is best for the interest of the country, it really changes your mindset,” she said.

Danielle said the experience left her with something unexpected.

“It made me find some new love for my country, too,” she added. “It woke up this patriotic spirit inside of me.”

Danielle traced some of that drive back to her school days.

“I was the only minority in my school,” she said. “So I really started to step up my game with hair and makeup and fashion because I… [thought], ‘If I’m the only minority, I’m going to go out and get it with a bang.’”

Danielle has worked across several corners of the beauty industry, but political makeup work stood out for a different reason.

“I liked that arena more, the political field,” she said. “Not because I’m into politics, but I liked the professionalism of the job.

Danielle happened to be the only makeup artist available at Fox News the morning Leavitt showed up for one of her first early appearances as press secretary.

“She was coming in last minute,” Danielle said.
