The Islamic Republic of Iran asked the United States to hold off. President Trump agreed — conditionally, temporarily, and with the kind of language that leaves absolutely no ambiguity about what happens if the deal falls apart again.
“Based on this request, I have agreed, for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran, to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL.”
Subject to being able to rapidly make a deal. Those words deserve to be read carefully by everyone in Tehran who is currently breathing a sigh of relief.
