“It’s our first store in Louisiana — that’s a big deal,” Aplin told USA Today.

“This is where my roots are from, so we’re super excited about it.”

Aplin was raised in Texas and opened the very first Buc-ee’s there in 1982, but as a kid, he worked during the summertime in his grandfather’s convenience store in Harrisonburg, Louisiana.

Buc-ee’s is also bringing a sprawling new location to Nebraska soon, which will be the first for The Cornhusker State.

However, another planned Buc-ee’s hit a major roadblock due to an issue that a city official called “one of the worst things I’ve seen.”
