“You’re Not Worth the Trouble Anymore.” My Husband Walked Out of the Hospital With His Mistress Just Four Hours After I Gave Birth—But the Tattooed Billionaire Who Found Me Holding Our Newborn Exposed the Family Secret That Made Him Beg Me for Another Chance

The contrast between the two men was absolute. Derek looked small, pathetic, and desperate, while Luka stood tall, relaxed, and utterly imposing, holding a thick, wax-sealed white envelope in his tattooed hand.

Derek turned toward Luka, his breath hitching in his throat as he took a defensive step backward against the wall. “Moretti… listen to me… we can work out an agreement… my father is willing to surrender the commercial land leases—”

Luka didn’t even grant Derek the courtesy of a response. He walked straight past him, completely ignoring his existence, and handed the sealed white envelope directly to me.

“The certified state DNA and lineage verification arrived from the lab, Emma,” Luka said softly, his eyes resting on my face. “Inside this envelope is the legal proof that Evelyn is the sole legitimate heir to the Moretti trust, along with the complete audit showing every dollar Derek’s family attempted to siphon from your father’s estate.”

Derek’s face went completely ash-white. He dropped to his knees right there on the linoleum floor, every shred of his pride disintegrating into pathetic desperation as he reached toward my chair.

“Emma, please! Don’t open that envelope!” Derek begged, his voice cracking as tears filled his eyes. “If that audit goes to the State’s Attorney, my father and I are going to federal prison for corporate fraud! Please, Emma! I’m Evelyn’s real father! We can be a family again! I’ll leave Brittany, I’ll buy us a house in the suburbs, I’ll do whatever you want!”

I looked down at the man who had abandoned me while I was bleeding, exhausted, and holding his newborn daughter. I looked at his pathetic, sniveling posture, remembering how he had enjoyed watching me break just three days ago.

“You aren’t her father, Derek,” I said, every word cut with cold, surgical precision. “A father doesn’t calculate the price of his child before she takes her first breath.”

With a swift, steady movement, I broke the red wax seal and pulled out the legal documents.
