Now, this is a great first step, but honestly, for a lot of these kids, their parents may only have minimal involvement in their lives. So let me offer some additional sticks instead of carrots that may help. Are any of the parents involved receiving SNAP or other government benefits? Cut them off. If their children are out of control, they shouldn’t receive any government assistance until they manage to get their kids in line. Second, we need to address compensation. Hold the parents financially responsible for the property damage caused by their children, which in some cases has amounted to millions of dollars. If necessary, implement a system where a portion of their income is garnished for the rest of their lives to cover these damages.
