King Charles addressed Congress Charles continued, “Speaking in this renowned chamber of debate and deliberation, I cannot help but think of my late mother, Queen Elizabeth, who, in 1991, was also afforded this signal honour and similarly spoke under the watchful eye of the Statue of Freedom above us. Today, I am here on this great occasion in the life of our Nations to express the highest regard and friendship of the British people to the people of the United States.”

King Charles and his Royal Family members are expected to remain strictly neutral in public politics. Meanwhile, they are not shy of raising issues in the world, which King Charles did just last week.

Still, with everything that is going on in the world, she would have been concerned.

“Today, as we mark what would have been my beloved mother’s 100th birthday, my family and I pause to reflect on the life and loss of a sovereign who meant so much to us all, and to celebrate anew the many blessings of her memory,” King Charles said.
