There’s This: We Finally Know the Real Reason For the ‘Trump-Russia’ Hoax

The document states the investigation was opened to determine “if President Trump is or was directed by, controlled by, and/or coordinated activities with, the Russian Federation in a manner constituting a threat to the national security of the United States.” The justification? Trump had asked Comey for personal loyalty. He had asked whether the investigation could be resolved. He had fired the director. The FBI read all of this as potential obstruction — and used that potential obstruction as the predicate to launch Crossfire Hurricane’s successor investigation against the sitting president.

This is the document that conservatives said existed. The one Democrats and the legacy media insisted didn’t exist, couldn’t exist, was a paranoid fantasy about a heroic FBI protecting the nation from a compromised president. It exists. It was filed one week after Comey was fired. And the predicate is exactly what critics always suspected: not evidence of Russian coordination, but retaliation against a president who had the audacity to fire the man running the bureau.
