Platner Didn’t Just Destroy His Own Campaign — He Destroyed the Democratic Party’s Entire Brand

The old Democratic Party was the party of the working man

That died during the Obama years when it became unapologetically ideological — the party of liberalism, then progressivism, then the #MeToo movement and Believe All Women and toxic masculinity and the war on the Patriarchy. That brand served them well enough until 2024, when the working-class men they had abandoned for a decade finally voted accordingly and handed Trump a historic mandate.

But now even that brand is gone. You cannot be the Believe All Women party and the Graham Platner party simultaneously. You cannot brand your opponents as Nazis while your Senate candidate has the tattoo.

The misalignment is too grotesque, too documented, and too public to spin away.

So what replaces it? This is where conservatives need to pay close attention rather than simply savoring the Platner disaster as a standalone embarrassment.
