China denied interfering in U.S. elections and dismissed Trump’s allegations as fabricated. Despite those denials, the administration cited the disclosures to bolster its broader election agenda, including proposals requiring voter identification and proof of citizenship.

Trump also referenced declassified intelligence identifying Russia, Iran, North Korea, and unspecified nonstate actors as entities capable of compromising portions of U.S. election infrastructure.
