Goodbye to right on red? Over 700,000 drivers face new traffic rules under safety plan

The The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure would post “No Turn on Red” signs in impacted areas.

The sign would be removed when NDOT completes a survey that turning right on red in that intersection does not increase the risk of pedestrians getting hit.

The bill still has to go through a public hearing and two more readings.

If passed, it would go into effect in five months.
