Democratic Socialists Co-Chair Sparks Bipartisan Alarm

The DSA platform itself—drafted earlier this year—lays out an agenda of sweeping government control: a 32-hour workweek with no pay cut, universal health care, publicly owned housing, an end to mass incarceration, “feminism for all,” and a Green New Deal that would seize energy and transportation under collective ownership.

On foreign policy, it demands defunding the Department of Defense, ending all military and economic aid to Israel, prosecuting American and Israeli leaders over Gaza, and abolishing ICE.

On democracy, it seeks statehood for D.C., abolition of the Electoral College, ranked-choice voting, proportional representation, and—most chillingly—replacing the presidency and Supreme Court “with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.”

Public ownership of the largest corporations and essential industries rounds out the vision.
