She went on to criticize the United States as being “addicted to war” and driven by “imperialism, militarization, conquest, control, and competition in its pursuit of dominance.” According to her official website, Ramirez’s husband is living in the U.S. without legal status, and she identifies as the only member of Congress in a “mixed-status marriage.”
