He’s been mayor of New York City for less than a year. He hasn’t built a government grocery store that works, can’t deliver free buses, couldn’t arrest Benjamin Netanyahu, got booed off a Staten Island stage by 3,500 people, doxxed nearly a million property owners, and watched his rent freeze drive market rents to all-time highs. What he has managed to do is use the New York City mayor’s office as a DSA campaign operation.

Now it’s official — at least officially complained about.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust filed an ethics complaint asking the city’s Conflicts of Interest Board to investigate Mamdani for using his official position, city resources, and — critically — the NYC mayoral seal to endorse Governor Kathy Hochul’s reelection campaign and Lindsey Boylan’s City Council bid, along with eight other Democratic candidates. The city’s own Conflicts of Interest Board published an advisory opinion in 2009 specifically warning city officials against using public resources for endorsements.
