I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again – you can’t hate our media enough.

The press corps spent weeks generating breathless coverage about where first lady Melania Trump was, implying sinister significance in her absence from public events, and speculating about the state of the Trump marriage. She was with her son Barron, who is home on college summer break — and simultaneously facilitating her 34th reunion between a Ukrainian child and their family.

While the media was obsessing over her location, she was quietly doing more substantive work than most of her critics do in a year. Then she walked into the Rose Garden on Wednesday and said four words: “I heard you missed me.”
