Senate Gives Trump Big Win as Senate Confirms Several Nominees

Senate Republicans have delivered a major victory for President Donald Trump this week.

Republicans announced that they will have confirmed 95% of his civilian nominees — a pace that leaves the records of Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and even Trump’s own first term in the dust.

In a post Monday from the official Senate GOP account, Republicans highlighted a striking comparative chart: As of early August in the second year of each administration, 95% of civilian nominations reported out of committee have been confirmed under Trump’s second term.

That towers over Obama’s 89%, Biden’s 89%, and Trump’s first-term mark of just 74%.

The numbers underscore the effectiveness of Senate Majority Leader John Thune’s leadership and the Republican majority’s willingness to reform outdated rules that Democrats had weaponized to stall the president’s team.
