Earlier this month, the most divisive president in the history of our country praised and championed Virginia’s redistricting vote, calling it a great thing for “democracy” (a supposed constitutional law professor, Obama, who doesn’t seem to realize we’re a representative republic, not a “democracy”). If the vote stands, and there’s no reason to think that it will survive a Virginia Supreme Court decision, it would take four seats from Republicans and give them to Democrats, creating a 10D-1R congressional breakdown in a state that was 6D-5R and considered among the fairest congressional maps in the country.
